Vivid Voltage
In Science, Year 6 Leopards have been investigating: ‘What is voltage and how does it affect the brightness of a bulb?’.
We were lucky enough to be visited by Curtis, an apprentice electrician. He talked to us about what being an electrician involves, how he has moved through different stages in his apprenticeship and the routes open to us. He gave us some clear insight into what voltage is and we then undertook our own research into our question. We found out that the higher the voltage, the brighter the bulb, however, too much voltage meant that the filament in the bulb will become too hot and blow.
