Ocean Youth Trust
Thanks to Ocean Youth Trust, some of our children enjoyed the fantastic opportunity to spend the night on the River Tyne, aboard a yacht.
We set sail from North Shields before stopping for the night near the Millennium Bridge.
The children learnt some key sailing skills including steering, hoisting up the sails, tying knots and mooring. It provided an opportunity to develop some key life skills too.
They also had the opportunity to make friends from Hawthorn Primary School, in preparation for transition to Secondary school.
They demonstrated resilience, respect and friendship, as well as their new found ‘sea legs’!
